The dikicilab biomaterials and tissue engineering research group was founded by Dr. Serkan Dikici in 2021. The research of the dikicilab team is mainly focused on the development of novel biomaterials for soft tissue engineering approaches and angiogenesis.

Graduate and undergraduate students of the dikicilab team conduct their research on the following topics:

# Development of functional biomaterials to promote/accelerate chronic wound healing
# Applications of in vitro and in vivo angiogenesis models 
# Vascular tissue engineering and the development and characterization of tissue-engineered vascular grafts (TEVG) 
# Development of physiologically relevant 3D tissue and disease models as an alternative to animal experiments 
# Investigation of endothelial cells' behaviors in response to flow/drug treatment in vitro
